About the Attorney:

Karina Gutierrez was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States at the age of four years old. She understands the fear, worry, and desperation to find answers that often lead to becoming pry of individuals who are not authorized to practice law and damage cases.

Karina has a double major with a B.A. in Psychology and Political Science. She received her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of law and is licensed to practice law in the state of California. Ms. Gutierrez started handling immigration casework as a student intern in 2012 at Catholic Charities of the East Bay. There, she was mentored and taught by two amazing immigration attorneys and moved forward to work the Asian Pacific Islander Outreach Program.

In 2014, she returned to her home county of Orange County where she worked with a private immigration attorney before joining the pro bono organization, Public Law Center in 2016. Karina became the interim lead attorney at Public Law Center prior to transitioning to work with the University of California system; serving as the first full-time immigration attorney for the UC Riverside students and immediate family members. Ms. Gutierrez has a passion to advocate for basic human rights and believes in the power of awareness and education.
